Project Statement
The owners wanted to replace an awkwardly situated den and breakfast area, remodel the kitchen opening into the new den, and add a
guest room on the first floor.
Our objectives were to make the additions and renovations blend seamlessly with existing space and use the den/breakfast structure to
transition from the traditional architecture of the main house to the newer existing carport area. We also wanted to create a family
area that was comfortable, light filled, and visually and physically connected with the existing pool area.
The new living spaces were delineated into the den and breakfast areas by the vaulted ceilings within the space. The vaults continue
out toward the pool with open trussed covered porches that echo the open ended carport structure and provide protection from the
southern sun.
